In addition to the members of the Vanguard team listed below, we have 19 additional employees to service our tenants. They work in the office and out in the field to service our tenants, the properties, and the building owners.
Dan Shepard
Director of Operations
Dan is a lifelong resident of Northeastern Ohio and has over 35 years of real estate experience in property management. Along with extensive backgound in residential apartment management, Dan has expertise in the both commercial office and industrial property management. In addition to the property management, Dan has hands on experience with the construction, restoration and turn around of commercial and residential real estate projects.
Vincent Macauda
Director of Business Development
Vince is an Ohio licensed real estate broker and attorney, and from 2004 through 2017 was one of the few attorneys in the State of Ohio certified by the Ohio State Bar Association as a specialist in residential real estate law. Vince is also a Master Commissioner for U.S. District Court foreclosure sales. Vince graduated from John Carroll University with a B.S. in Economics and from Cleveland Marshall College of Law with a J.D.
Barbara Birk
Controller
Barb has over 20 years experience in Property Management, for both commercial and residential properties, in Tenant Services and Accounting. She earned the Property Management Specialist Designation (PMSD) from the Center for International Certification Programs, Inc. through Hondros College. Before getting her designation, Barb obtained her Salesperson License from the Ohio Division of Real Estate. She is an active real estate agent in the State of Ohio and graduated from The Ohio State University with a B.A. in Sociology.
David Nakoneczny
Director of Field Operations
David is a licensed real estate salesperson in the State of Ohio and is entering his 7th year with Vanguard Properties. David oversees our maintenance staff on a day to day basis, assigning and scheduling work orders, building repairs and upgrades, supervising suite turns prior to tenant move in's, and personally working with tenants on all things maintenance related.
Sheila Marszal
Leasing Manager
Sheila joined Vanguard Properties as a Leasing Consultant in April of 2010 and has experience in all areas property management, including tenant relations and accounting . Sheila is a seasoned sales professional with over 15 years experience and has a background in Insurance and Mortgage Sales. She is passionate about making sure her clients find a home and not just an apartment.
